Whitney Houston sings the National Anthem at Super Bowl XXV

Great Performance of our National Anthem by Whitney Houston at Super Bowl XXV.

In the background, our country was at war in the Gulf after Iraqi forces under Saddam Hussein invaded their oil-rich neighbor of Kuwait.

My bestfriend, Steven Jesse Castillo, was deployed with our Marine Corp. Our nation was experiencing a climate of uncertainty and worry.

I was fortunate to be in the crowd that day in Tampa, Florida. Whitney Houston’s performance moved everyone present. I do not think there was a dry eye in the stadium. It was truly a patriotic moment. Whitney lifted our nation that day!
