Glory (1989 Motion Picture) Civil War

  “Glory” is a motion picture which depicts the creation and actions of the 54th Massachusetts, an all-black infantry unit of the Civil War Union Army. Young Colonel Robert Shaw leads these brave volunteers through the battles of acceptance, racism, and prejudice within their own Union army, and across the battlefields against the soldiers of the Confederate Army. The movie concludes with the epic attack by the “Fighting 54th” on the Confederate stronghold of Ft. Wagner.

Stars: Matthew Broderick, Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washington (Best Supporting Actor – Oscar).
