On that tragic day, January 28, 1986, when seven astronauts perished, President Ronald Reagan spoke to the nation and offered an eloquent tribute, “We will never forget them…as they prepared for their journey and waved goodbye and ‘slipped the surly bonds of Earth’ to ‘touch the face of God”.”
